Lot 919 Spruce Mountain Mining District Map NV - Wells,Elko County - c1901 - General Americana
Framed hand-drawn scaled map of the various mining lots and claims in the famous Spruce Mountain Mining District. This map is all hand-lettered and colored. There is an indication in the lower framed area that indicates "Office of U.S. Surveyor General, Reno, Nevada, February 27, 1901" signed by "Walter S. Long C.E. Chief Clerk." There is a hand-lettered claim & lode chart, along with a small photograph of a claim area. The Spruce Mountain Mining District was founded in 1869 in south Elko county, on silver mining. The first mine in the district was the Latcham-Kille mine. - Jacobitz Collection
